First piece of leatherwork. A tooled, dyed armband. It's designed to fit under a pauldron on the outside of the bicep. Eventually I'll design and make a suit of armor or so :) But yeah, first piece, thought I'd post it for posterity.

This is quite the inspiring piece! I can't get over the details in that dragon! Very nicely done!

Many thanks :) It was fun to do, I wish I had more time for leatherwork.

Wow, this is fantastic. c: I love the use of lights and dark and the dragon itself looks really well done.

Personally I think you could easily charge around 80 dollars instead of 60. xD

Oh awesome! I do a bit of leatherworking too (over at my ~ladydove7-artisan account). Nothing near as cool as this though! I have designs to do leather armor as well, but am only a novice at it. The most I've worked up the courage to do is a couple of masks and some keychains.

I love the shape of this and the way you've created color variations with the dye. Very cool! Best of luck to both of us for reaching that armor goal :giggle:

~MirrorMask is the mistress of mask making here on DA if you want to give her a looksie! She also has a hella awesome tutorial up on how to shape and carve leather masks, if you're interested. It's here: [link]

It is indeed great practice for shaping and carving:D
